about me
My name is Kieran Masterton and I love horror movies, horror directors and horror poster art. I am a PhD student in the field of film theory and specialise in the slasher sub-genre and alternative methods of distribution. The content I curate on this blog is a collection of inspiration for an upcoming project I am working on entitled, One Last Scare.“Nothing can prepare you for what happens when she fights back!” - A Classic poster for a classic slasher, The House on Sorority Row (1983)
Wowzers, wish these were still for sale I’d snap one up instantly. The Birds by Hitchcock as re-imagined by Laz Marquez.

As you all seemed to like Laz Marquez’s A Nightmare on Elm Street poster I thought I would share his seriously striking poster for Carrie (1976). This is one poster in his Stephen King Re-Envisioned series and the others are well worth a gander too.

A totally brilliant poster for a totally brilliant film. I loved Trick ‘R Treat from director Michael Dougherty and really thought it didn’t get the attention it deserved. This limited edition poster by Drew Millward is everything I love about the film, cutesy but creepy. Was seriously pissed off not to bag myself a copy of this poster when it was released, so if you happen to have a copy and would like to sell - get in touch.

This poster for Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) is nothing short of beautiful. The incredible artist behind this work is the stupidly talented, Aaron Horkey. Google him for more of his insanely detailed work.

I love this style of poster created by Phantom City Creative for David Cronenberg’s 1977 zombie film Rabid.

3D - The Ultimate Dimension in TERROR! The simply brilliant poster for horror classic House of Wax (1953) starring Vincent Price. Even in 1953 horror filmmakers were trying to cash in on 3D ;)
An oldie but a goodie, a seriously attention grabbing poster from the 1981 classic slasher Happy Birthday to Me - Shish kebab… gotta be a nasty way to die ;)
Inspired My Bloody Valentine (1981) poster - love it!
