I am a PhD student in the field of film theory and specialise in the slasher sub-genre and alternative methods of distribution.   3. For the record, I totally hated the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, but I dig this little seen poster for the 2010 film.

  4. What on earth is going on here, this is truly terrible. I don’t normally post posters I dislike but this is just shocking. A) It’s almost a complete rip off of the original poster, which in principle isn’t always a bad thing but B) why oh why are they messing around with the photoshopped image of Alexander Skarsgård in James Marsden’s eye? I could see them reflecting his face on part of the lens, or doing something subtle but this is like something posted on Photoshop disasters!  The terrible photoshopping combined with the dodgy tagline makes this poster for the Straw Dogs remake a massive disappointment.

  5. This is one of two pieces of pretty interesting poster art released last month (ish) for the upcoming remake of Japanese horror film Apartment 1303. I don’t know much about this remake other than it stars Rebecca De Mornay (amongst others), is directed by Swedish director Daniel Fridell and has the obligatory 3D appendage. Guess we’ll have to wait and see, but the poster caught my eye.
